| Lower School
Lower School programming is centered
on developing strong self-esteem in every child
through the combined efforts of teachers, parents
and the Head of Lower School. The Lower School
academic program includes language arts, social
studies, mathematics,
science, religion, music, physical education and
art. The World Language program introduces students
to either Spanish, French or Chinese in Kindergarten. Students
also receive instruction in technology.
The Lower School Community Service program is
based on the service learning model. Service learning
projects encourage students to act out of a desire
to meet a genuine need and connections between
community service efforts and the Sacred Heart
goals are continually emphasized. Details of the
Lower School curriculum are available in the Lower
School Curriculum Guide.

Assemblies, sports programs and
hallway displays provide regular opportunities
to reinforce each student’s sense of achievement
and promote her growth as a person. Faculty members,
moreover, are always alert to recognize individual
students who display a special talent or ability.
An array of after-school activities—including
dance, sports, crafts, workshops and swimming—enhance
the regular academic program. Our Extended Day
option provides care after School in a familiar
environment with consistent expectations.
