he Convent of the Sacred Heart Greenwich-Maplehurst Alumnae Association is a vibrant group of more than 1800 graduates, representing a wide range of talents and accomplishments in the arts, medicine, law, sciences, business, education, athletics, philanthropy and family life. Members of the alumnae association manifest clearly the Sacred Heart maxim “those to whom much is given, much is required.” Seniors are inducted into the alumnae association in May of their senior year. As members of the Network of the Sacred Heart Schools, our alumnae share a unique and common bond and are welcome at any Sacred Heart school across the United States and around the world.
The Alumnae Association, through its board, sponsors many events throughout the school year, both on campus and off, usually hosting three to four alumnae receptions in various cities across the country. Alumnae gather regularly at these events, as well as at School functions and liturgies. It is the goal of the Alumnae Association to continue the relationships and friendships formed while at Sacred Heart and to help foster new relationships and friendships with others in our community. Please remember to keep us up to date with your address changes and emails so you can be sure to be invited to our events, and keep checking the alumnae online community news page for information on all of our events.
Additionally, the Alumnae Office works hard on raising money for the School’s Annual Fund and capital needs to support and continue the excellence of the education begun by St. Madeleine Sophie Barat. We also hope that alumnae support the School through volunteer efforts, as guest lecturers and mentors to our current students and through community service. It is our hope that alumnae will continue to participate in the life of the School, financially and spiritually, and that they remain close, as alumnae are the lifeblood and real heritage of Greenwich. Keeping in touch with former classmates who may be scattered around the world is important. Alumnae can communicate amongst each other and with the School, using the Convent of the Sacred Heart Alumnae Online Community Network, a system designed to meet the needs of alumnae and facilitate quick and easy contact. Each alumna has her own individualized web site that can be updated with photographs and information that she wants to share with classmates. All of this can be done from anywhere in the world. Please take the time to check your profile and information regularly so the School and your classmates can have the most up to date information for you.
