Upper School students who are interested
in writing and have a strong work ethic are encouraged
to enroll in Journalism, a yearlong course, for
one credit. In Journalism, they will learn the
basic concepts of journalistic writing and ethics
by publishing their own paper, The King Street
Chronicle.
Over the course of the year, students learn to
write concise news stories with strong leads from
an objective point of view. Students are required
to write an article for each issue of the paper_a
process that entails interviewing sources, conducting
outside research into their topics, writing several
drafts and revising their drafts for grammar,
style and content.
Students who apply and are chosen to serve as
editors meet after School to lay out each issue.
The faculty advisor for The King Street Chronicle
is Ellyn Stewart, stewarte@cshgreenwich.org.
