    Maryanne Grace not only earned a spot in the Greenwich Academy golf team’s lineup as an eighth-grader, she absolutely excelled this spring.
    Monday, Grace’s first season as a member of the Gators concluded and she couldn’t have scripted a better ending.

    Shooting an even-par 35 over nine holes at The Round Hill Club’s challenging course, Grace won the Caroline Dym ‘18 FAA Memorial Tournament.
    “It feels great, I’m so excited and it’s a great way to end the season with an awesome team,” Grace said.

    Sacred Heart Greenwich sophomore MaryGrace Farrell finished second, carding a 1-over-par 36, while Greenwich Academy junior Katie Dzialga, GA senior Emmy Sammons and Sammie Bobman of Rye Country Day School tied for third at 5-over 40.

    he Sacred Heart Greenwich lacrosse team remained on a roll on its Senior Day, downing visiting Berkshire School, 21-4.

    The 14-1 Tigers received two goals and two assists from senior Ryan Smith and two goals and one assist from senior Caroline Paul. Senior Hilary Hoover tallied twice, while seniors Athena Corroon, Molly Haggerty and Teaken Haggerty each had one goal to also pace the victors.

    “It was a total tam effort against Berkshire at home today,” Sacred Heart coach Tara Clough said. “We celebrated our seniors. Every senior has an important role on this team. I am grateful for the exceptional leadership we have and look forward to a strong finish to the season.”

  • Volleyball Play Days

    Attention All Rising 8th Grade Volleyball Players And All Upper School Volleyball Players In Grades 9-12!

    We are hosting three Wednesday open volleyball play days on June 12, 19, and 26 at Sacred Heart from 5pm -7pm in the Dubois Gym.

    Maybe you’re coming off a volleyball club season, finishing another spring sport or perhaps you haven’t touched a ball since November, either way now is the time to play. We’ll have instruction, ball handling, competitive drills, small group or 6v6 games, and even play the popular “screw up”.  We’ll give you drills and things you can work on by yourself over the summer to get ready for preseason. (If your friend can’t make it to a Wednesday, don’t worry- come anyway! We’ll introduce you to everyone. We’re a friendly bunch! Come play because you love the game and have a desire to improve.) This is available free of charge to Sacred Heart students only.

  • Greenwich Time: Sacred Heart lacrosse team defeats Greens Farms, clinches FAA regular season title

    Playing its third game in as many days and its fourth matchup of the week, the Sacred Heart Greenwich lacrosse team certainly didn’t resemble a squad that was finishing off an ultra-busy stretch in its schedule Friday against Greens Farms Academy.

    Up and down the field the Tigers went, as they relentlessly registered shots on goal, created scoring opportunities and imposed their will on another league opponent.
    Junior midfielder Morgan Smith recorded five goals and four assists, while sophomore attack Lily DeConcini tallied five times to spark Sacred Heart in its 18-7 victory over visiting Greens Farms Academy in an FAA game.

    The win clinched the FAA regular season championship for the Tigers, who are 13-1 overall and completed league play with a 7-0 mark. Next on Sacred Heart’s agenda is winning its third straight FAA Tournament title.

    USA Field Hockey recently announced the rosters for the National Indoor teams that will compete for the 2019-2020 season and ultimately for positions on the teams that will play at the Pan American games in 2020. Freshman Caroline Nemec was named to the Junior National team and Sophomore Beth Yeager was named to the National team.

  • Greenwich Time: Sacred Heart downs Greenwich Academy in duel of unbeaten lacrosse rivals

    Scoring five unanswered goals during the first 5 minutes, 11 seconds of play, Sacred Heart couldn’t have scripted a better start to its lacrosse showdown against neighborhood rival Greenwich Academy on Saturday.

    The early goals put GA in chase mode against a Tigers team that hasn’t been caught this so far this season.

    Host Sacred Heart’s quick start held up in this duel of unbeaten squads, as junior attack Katie Keller scored a game-high six goals to power the Tigers to a 13-8 victory.
    Also ignited by an effective defensive effort, Sacred Heart raised its record to 10-0 with their third win against the Gators in two seasons. The Tigers topped the Gators, 13-7, in last season’s regular-season meeting, then were victorious, 7-4, in the NEPSAC showcase event.

    At their home field, or on the road, the Sacred Heart Greenwich lacrosse team has flourished any place it has played so far this spring.
    Wednesday, the Tigers traveled to Choate Rosemary Hall and continued to excel.

    Getting goals from numerous sources, Sacred Heart registered a 17-3 victory against Choate Rosemary Hall, upping is mark to 7-0.

    Amelia Sheehan tallied four goals, three assists and three ground balls to power the Tigers. Katie Keller had three goals and two assists, while Ryan Smith had a hat trick with one assist in the win.

    “It was a total team effort,” Sacred Heart coach Tara Clough said. “Our team was relentless in their efforts to fight for every possession until the last whistle.”
