Greenwich Time: Over 60 students in Greenwich earn Scholastic Writing Awards

More than 60 students representing independent and public schools in Greenwich swept awards in the regional Scholastic Writing Award competition, and 17 will advance to the national level.
A panel of novelists, editors, teachers, poets, librarians, journalists and other literary professionals selected the students from more than 2,100 submissions from students representing public, private and homeschools.
Students from Sacred Heart Greenwich, Greenwich Academy and Brunswick School swept nearly 100 awards from 2,100 submissions for the Hudson-to-Housatonic area. These included: 43 for poems, 21 for personal essays, 11 for short stories, six for flash fiction (a condensed form of short stories), four in critical essays, two in journalism and one for a dramatic script.
