Greenwich Time: Greenwich students named national merit scholarship finalists

Of the 23 National Merit Scholarship Program Semifinalists from Greenwich, 18 are now finalists who have the chance to receive scholarships this year.
About 15,000 semifinalists advanced to the standing of finalist, and will be evaluated for prize money based on their academic record, information about the school’s curricula and grading system, two sets of test scores, the high school official’s written recommendation, information about the student’s activities and leadership, and the finalist’s essay.

Each of the Greenwich High School students named semifinalists are now finalists. They are: Hans Iversen, Ronny Iversen, Joe Konno, Jovita Li, Nicholas Liu, Christopher McDonnell, Michael McNulty, John Petit, Ajax Shung, Rahul Subramaniam, Derrick Xiong and Catherine Yang.

Brunswick School has four finalists: Greenwich residents William Frauen, Christian Hartch and Cole Pierce, and Stamford resident Benjamin Israel.

Two students from Sacred Heart Greenwich, Isabel Davenport and Meredith Wilson, were named finalists.
