Seniors win filmmaking award at Pelham Picture House
Four films from Sacred Heart Greenwich were showcased at the 10thannual Future Filmmaker's Film Festival on April 28, 2019 at the historic Pelham Picture House. Roxanne Kassapidis '19 and Lorraine Rinaldi '19 won the Audience Award for their short film, "Just Relax."
After accepting the award, they were asked to speak about the inspiration for their project. Lorraine talked about how the #metoo movement played a role in deciding upon their film topic. Roxanne commended the other student filmmakers and said how gratifying it was to have her work screened in a real movie theater with a public audience.
In addition to Lorraine and Roxanne, congratulations to the following student finalists who represented Sacred Heart Greenwich at the festival:
Sophia Georgas, “Live Like Oaks”
Jacqueline Prata, “Bittersweet”
Jacqueline Prata and Daniella Tocco, “Rewind”
The Future Filmmakers’ Film Festival began as a tribute to Byram Hills’ student and filmmaker, Matthew Hisiger.
To be part of the festival, students who attend schools in the Westchester County area submit their short films, which are then screened at the festival and evaluated by a panel of judges.
