Community Food Pantry:
The Community Food Pantry at St. Mary’s Parish in Mohegan Lake, New York is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide emergency and supplemental food to families and individuals in the Yorktown-Cortlandt area.
Reverse the Course:
Reverse the Course enables girls in underdeveloped countries to attend school. It assists girls by helping them start up small businesses that will generate profits to be used to pay tuition. Upper School student Mary Grace Henry started Reverse the Course. It has reached students in schools in Uganda, Kenya, Paraguay and Haiti.
Feed My Starving Children:
Feed My Starving Children is a Christian, non-profit hunger relief organization that works to address the needs of children suffering from hunger by providing them with nourishing meals.
The Child Abuse Prevention Center of New York:
The Child Abuse Prevention Center of New York funds a program that provides bilingual and bicultural volunteers who help immigrants assimilate to the U.S. and strengthen their parenting skills.
Camp Ta-Kum-Ta provides an enriching camping experience for children who have or have had cancer. The camp provides fun experiences such as, balloon rides, ropes courses, and fishing trips, to ensure an enjoyable experience for these children.
Saturdays at Sacred Heart:
Saturdays at Sacred Heart brings 45-50 middle school boys and girls from low-income families onto our campus to spend the afternoon enjoying activities such as swimming, sports and crafts.
Project Eye-to-Eye is a mentoring program that pairs successful high school and elementary age students who have been diagnosed with ADHD and other learning disabilities. Mentors promote self-esteem and self-advocacy among these children.
Domestic Violence Crisis Center:
Domestic Violence Crisis Center operates an emergency shelter for mothers and children who have had to leave home to escape violence. Children who arrive at the center do so without toys or other belongings, and they require a safe and comfortable environment.
Rye Free Reading Room:
The Rye Free Reading Room sponsors a program that matches professional teachers with middle school students in a small-group environment. The focus of the program is on developing strong math, science and reading skills.
