Where young women become global leaders
In Intro to Filmmaking, students learn the fundamentals of storytelling through filming and editing. Students get to try many different types of projects so that they can decide what direction they would like to specialize in for the future including Public Service Announcements, documentaries, news show segments, and creative projects.

Student Focus: Malika ‘20

Malika joined the Intro to Filmmaking class as a freshman. Malika's documentary about her father's seeing eye dog won second place in the Sacred Heart Film Festival.

"I joined Broadcast Journalism because when I was little, I loved to make movies with my sister in the backyard. Every summer, I would come up with a million ideas, and I would write a script for my sister and we would film until it would be too dark to see anything. ...When I saw the Broadcast elective option, I jumped on it because I knew that if I took the course, then I would be able to make films one day that would make people laugh, and cry, and just bring the things that I see in my head to life on a screen."
