Josephine Orr, an eighth-grader at Sacred Heart Greenwich, was one of six middle school writers to receive a prize of $50 from The Village Bookstore of Pleasantville, NY. The bookstore awards young writers each year to “empower and embolden middle school writers who demonstrate exemplary skill and promise in their writing abilities, and to encourage their interest in and love for the craft.” Orr’s prize-winning personal essay “It’s about the journey, not the destination” is reprinted below.
