The 35,600 sq. ft. athletic center is the central piece in a major renovation of the 110-acre campus. It enhances Sacred Heart’s program of competitive sports and provides a center of activity and classroom support for physical education. The athletic center provides three National Federation of State High School Associations regulation basketball and volleyball courts, six International Singles squash courts, a large multi-purpose space for student assemblies, class space for health and physical education, strength and conditioning room, dance and yoga studio, sports medicine center, locker rooms, press box, laundry facilities and administrative offices.
The state-of-the-art strength and conditioning room features 19 cardio machines, including six treadmills, arc trainers, ellipticals, bikes, indoor rowing machines and a powermill. A section of the room focuses on a variety of strength-building options, ranging from a Smith Machine, kettlebells, dumbbells, hip abductor/adductor machine to a functional trainer, providing opportunities for dynamic weight training and resistance exercises to meet the needs of the community.
In the sports medicine room, there is a whole-body and extremity-immersion hydrotherapy system. It will provide multi-athlete performance recovery.
